Tutoring is available for individual students and small groups of similarly aged students. Our qualified and experienced teacher is available to guide students through all academic subjects up to the eighth grade level including:

  We are able to assist home educators by providing teaching and evaluation in one or more specific subject areas.  We are able to utilize curriculum of your choosing as long as it is in keeping with our educational approach . 

  We are available to work with families whose children are enrolled in formalized education.  We do understand that not all families are able to pursue home education and non-homeschooling families are welcome to utilize Most High Learning's services where applicable.  Also, we are able to work with families who respect and honor Christian values and would like to explore the possibility of a Bible based approach to education.

1. Contact us by email or telephone and let us know generally what services you are needing for what age of student.
2. We will contact you to arrange an initial consultation. 
3. During our consultation time we will determine the learning objectives you have for your student and discuss scheduling and curriculum options.  You will be given an application and agreement to review.
4. Return your completed application, signed agreement and one time processing fee of $30 by the 30th day of the month before you would like tutoring to commence.  Once this is received we will contact you and confirm the amount of teaching hours you would like to schedule for the first month and plan on the best venue for tutoring.  
5. We will email or post you an initial invoice for the total monthly cost including mileage costs if the venue is not MHL or Mount Joy Library.  
6. We look forward to seeing you and your student at the first session!     Be sure to bring your payment for that month's tutoring along with the any remaining completed forms and requested supplies or curriculum to the first session.

   We are available to work together here at at Most High Learning  where we have a complete study room available.  Alternatively,  we can meet for tutoring at our very convient Milanof-Schock Library in Mount Joy or at another  local library .  We serve families in Lancaster County, PA.   If you are a home educator seeking teaching time for your student in a specific academic area this will generally best be met with 2 hour sessions one to two times a week. 
 

  Our base rate is $35 per tutoring hour.  We also offer three BULK DISCOUNT options which lowers the hourly rate significantly.  You can choose to purchase 11 or less hours at $35 per hour OR one of the three bulk purchase options listed below.  The bulk purchase options allow you to purchase a larger number of tutoring hours at a discounted rate.  Here are the three bulk purchase options:

A:  If you purchase 12 tutoring hours the cost is $396  at $33.00 per hour.
B:  If you purchase 15 tutoring hours the cost is $480 at $32.00 per hour. 
C:  If you purchase 25 or more tutoring hours the rate is $30 per hour.

  Please note:  Tutoring hours and any transportation fee (see below) must be paid for at the first tutoring session within a given month before tutoring commences.  If you are purchasing hours that will last you for several months then any monthly transportation fees would be the only item paid monthly.  We also offer an additional FAMILY DISCOUNT when siblings also receive tutoring from Most High Learning.  If you are interested we can discuss this at our initial meeting.

   There is a transportation fee of  $0.50 per mile if we meet at another venue besides Most High Learning   or Milanof-Schock Library in Mount Joy (mileage rate is IRS rate for 2008).   The transportation fee will be estimated at the beginning of a month based on scheduled sessions and included with your advance purchase of tutoring hours.  If there is a change to transportation plans in the month, a credit or charge will be added to your next months advance purchase invoice.  Individual sessions are for a minimum of one hour. 

  Our hourly rate includes preparation time along with the quarterly progress review provided to parents.

  Tutoring arrangements can be made for small groups of students with a 5 student maximum.  The rate for small groups with a minimum of 3 children at similar age and ability is currently $16 per hour per student.  If some children are siblings a FAMILY DISCOUNT may also apply.

  The transportation fee of $0.50 per mile also applies if we meet at another venue besides Most High Learning or Milanof-Schock Library in Mount Joy.  This could be split among families in a group.  Small group sessions will be for a minimum of one and a half hours to accommodate for enough individual emphasis.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  Please note that we require two weeks notice if you intend to discontinue services currently established.  Bulk purchased tutoring hours are non-refundable once tutoring hours are used. 

  At this time we are not equipped to work with children who have diagnosed special needs.  However, MHL does offer concentrated one on one tutoring and teaching which can be geared to meet general learning challenges.
